Kazakhstan: One worker died & one injured in mine explosion

An employee of the Donskoy mining and processing plant died in an explosion in a mine in the Aktobe region, 17 August 2021
Another worker was injured and taken to hospital.
An explosion occurred at the Donskoy mining and processing plant in the Aktobe region, as a result of which a woman died.
An emergency occurred...at the site of the mine named after the 10th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence during tunneling work.
“Two employees were caught in the blast wave. A miner was killed during mine surveying work, the second employee, a local surveyor, was injured. First aid was provided to him and he was taken to the central district hospital of Khromtau,” the plant reported.
An investigation was launched into the incident. The circumstances and causes of the explosion are being established.
The family of the deceased and the injured employee are being provided with the necessary assistance.
