Mexico: Killing of human rights defender against the “high energy tariffs” of CFE & mining in Oaxaca
On 8 April, human rights defender José Alberto Toledo Villalobos died after being badly beaten. He worked against mining in the region and opposed to the high energy tariffs of CFE.
The Business and Human Rights Resource Centre invited CFE to respond; the company did not reply.
