Myanmar: Garment workers reportedly forced to lie during brand inspections; incl. co. responses

In December 2023, it was reported that workers at Jiashihao (Myanmar) were facing a series of violations including workers forced to lie to brand representatives who came to audit the factory, denial of leave, workers falling ill due to mandatory overtime, workers wages reduced by around 30%, workers working in the heat due to the factory only keeping the fan on for a limited time, workers forced to work extra time without pay on days when they need to make up for lost time when the generator breaks down.

In August 2024, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited H&M, Inditex, OTTO and Lidl to respond. The responses can be found below.
