In 2007, we initiated a project to assess how companies are managing their greenhouse gas emissions...In total, we assessed 125 companies, covering the FTSE100...and large cap European stocks…47 of the 125 companies have stabilised or reduced their total greenhouse gas emissions over the past five years and almost two thirds have stabilised or reduced their emissions intensity…80 companies have published greenhouse gas emission targets, with 39 expecting their total emissions (excluding offsets) to stabilise or reduce over the next five years…Most importantly, 21 companies…scored less than 20%, suggesting that there may be significant gaps in the manner in which they are managing their greenhouse gas emissions...[scroll to pp 45 for full list of companies analysed for report]
