Sherpa releases new guidance & legal analysis on French duty of vigilance law
Two years after the adoption of the duty of vigilance law by the French National Assembly, on 12 February 2019 French NGO Sherpa released new legal analysis and guidance on the law. Sherpa's Vigilance Plans Reference Guidance provides a legal analysis of the content and the scope of the law and suggests some legislative improvements, as well as seeking to provide stakeholders with tools and support to implement the obligations resulting from the law and provide input on the development of new European or international norms on due diligence.
Having found that many of the vigilance plans reviewed in 2018 failed to reflect the importance of the issues raised by the law, the guide also aims to help companies improve their 2019 vigilance plans.
