So. Africa: Bench Marks Foundation says Lonmin has failed to live up to its CSR commitments for 10 years; company responds
Bench Marks Foundation launched the report "Coping with Unsustainability: Policy Gap 7", on 15 October 2013. The report documents the findings of a study on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and mining that uses the case of Lonmin's CSR commitments and reporting over 10 years. Bench Marks Foundation asserts that Lonmin has failed - throughout this period - to live up to its own social and environmental commitments and that for this reason, its licence should be suspended by South Africa's Department of Mineral Resources.
