South Africa: Social media prompted to share plan to prevent hate speech amidst presidential elections
Amidst South Africa presidential elections, concerns over fake information and hate speech emerged putting forward social media refusal to display their plan to prevent the use of online platforms such as Facebook, Tiktok and X (formerly Twitter) to incite the public. The Resource Centre reached out to Telegram, Twitter ,Google, Meta and Tiktok. Meta and Tiktok responded.
