Case Report: Field mission confirms human trafficking concerns in Jordan factory

On Wednesday; January 13th 2016, Tamkeen Fields for Aid received a phone call regarding a strike of factory workers (Bangladeshi and Indian nationalities) from Al Hassan Industrial City - Irbid, since January 1st 2016, due to the dismissal of three female workers, where they were subjected to being reported maliciously to the administrative authorities and police...Tamkeen team went to Irbid to meet the three female workers, and through hearing their complaint, it was noticeable to the team that there are many obvious indicators which elevate to the suspicion of human trafficking case against the factory workers...Tamkeen received a complaint of almost 100 factory workers [regarding] violations, such as withholding of passports, physical and verbal abuse, the denial of annual and sick leaves, long working hours, and other labour and administrative violations...
