G7: Ise-shima Summit agenda announced, no supply chain

The Japanese government, currently the chair of the G7, informed civil society representatives of the agenda of the forthcoming G7 Summit at Ise-shima, Japan. Despite previous approaches from civil society actors, including a statement from the Network for a Japanese National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights in January 2016, the issue of human rights in business supply chains has not been included. This issue was discussed at the last summit, in Elmau, Germany, where the G7 countries announced their commitment to the UNGP and to ensuring "responsible supply chains".
