Tanzania: Legal & Human Rights Centre releases national Human Rights & Business Report for 2014

The Legal & Human Rights Centre released its third annual "Human Rights & Business Report" in late June 2015, taking stock of the human rights impacts of businesses on labour rights, environment, land rights, gender, as well as payment of taxes by companies. It also covers the performance of government agencies responsible for regulating businesses' conduct. Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited certain companies named in connection with serious concerns raised in the report to respond to the report: Alliance One Tobacco, Mamujee Products, Highland Estates, Mtibwa Sugar Estate. Mamujee Products & Alliance One Tobacco have responded (see below). Highland Estates & Mtibwa Sugar Estate did not respond.
