Mars had previously committed to stand by the Paris climate agreement after President Donald Trump announced the United States would exit the accord... Mars’ “Sustainable in a Generation Plan” aims to reduce greenhouse emissions across its value chain by 67 percent by 2050 — an expansion of earlier efforts... The company is also taking aim at improving the lives of 1 million people in its chain by improving wages, focusing on human rights and finding new opportunities for women. It is specifically targeting the reduction of poverty in its production of cocoa, rice and mint, while addressing human rights violations in other areas of fishing and agriculture.
