Japan: Temp agency is sued for not preventing abuse

A former temp worker is suing the giant temp agency Recruit for not having helped him when he was suffering verbal abuse at the company he had been sent to. Japanese law requires agencies to ensure that temps have a “suitable” working environment in the companies they are sent to. Recruit provided the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre with a comment, stating that they had not received details of the suit, but that they take the matter “very seriously” and are “publicly committed to respecting human rights”.
